Jumbled story
This is a good exercise to practise understanding a story and the usage of simple past. Students should put the story in the right order by numbering the sequence of events. Then they should match the words in bold to the pictures by writing the same number in the box next to it.
After that they can do some vocabulary tasks related to the text.
