the third one should be "Does he have a car?"

Which is more appropriate for the British speakers to use because we in India use the British English.

Has he got a car? is commonly used in Britain. Have got is often used for some expression like I ve got married.

Has he got a car?
I prefer that one because it sounds more British, the third sentence is American English and it s does he have?

Hi all,

Only the sentence "Has he got a car?", is correct. The remaining 2 are not grammatically correct.

ALL of them are correct... Though "Has he a car?" .. is a bit strange sounding to most people but it is also quite correct. You don t actually need the particle "got", as it just re-enforces the idea of possession, but most people do tend to add it on because it sounds better.

PS. It should be:  Does he have?
