There are many presidents that came before Obama.  What number is he?

American Presidents are remembered in the order they served in office so what number is Obama?

Thanks everyone for your kind replies, but there s only one question I m looking for.
It s very hard to explain it but just to give you an idea of what I need here s a question (I know it s wrong)

What in row is obama the president of the US?   He s the 44th.

That s a great Q, really made me think! We actually do have a question word for this in Hungarian: "Hanyadik?" which means "Which ordinal number?" The answer to this would be: "44th."

Finally I called an American friend of mine, and after 10 minutes of discussing, we concluded that it s near impossible to say this exact meaning in English. We could express something similar with a longer circumscription, like:

"Where in the sequence of presidents does Obama stand"

"Where does Obama come in the line of presidents?"

Bless up!

Thanks a lot , It actually made me think a lot too, we do also have a same question word for that "chandomin?" which also means which ordinal number. But I didn t know hot to put in English.
I think that s a great to ask the question, Thanks again.

Thanks Silke ,    I didn t know how to explain what I meant. I changed the post when I saw the responses and tried to make myself clear!!,lol
