Dear Genzianella... I īve heard something similar in Mexico, but it depends on the context of what is meant. Here, when I heard the phrase is when someone behaves with ingratitude towards someone who  has helped him...
 
"Le muerde la mano al que le da de comer...." = "He bites the hand off he who feeds him..."   in some cases, when you help someone with whatever, and this person turns around and talks about you, criticises you, blames you, or whatnot... don īt know if I was clear enough, ....
