Are you sure about "These sumer holidays were fantastic" meaning this past summer holiday (of this year)?

To me, "these summer holidays" means that we are selecting a few separate summer holidays from a collection (set, group) of the summer holidays we have experienced.

Destination
Rating
Sentence
1.London
fantastic
I`ve vacationed in London, Paris, and Rio. These summer holidays were fantastic!
2. Paris
fantastic

3. Rio de Janeiro
fantastic
4. Scrooge City
unsatisfctory
I can`t recommend destinations 4,5, or 6. I spent some time visiting them this summer, and I have to say that these summer holidays were the worst of my entire life.
5. Miseropolis
unsatisfctory
6. Swindletown
unsatisfctory

These holidays (holiday in city 1, holiday in city 2, holiday in city 3) were fantastic, but these were not so memorable (in cities 4,5,and 6).

Actually, to me... I d pick the present perfect tense.

This summer holiday has been fantastic... - if you are referring to "this year s".

Now... if you are looking at an album of pictures and you are pointing to some photos, you could say...

"Oh look, this Athens, no!?"

"Oh, yes. This summer holiday was fantastic." - because you are referring to a past event...
