Shrinking pictures

I �m currently trying to shrink my pictures with shrinkpictures.com and also tried a program, but everytime I convert the picture it changes the background from white to black. Do you have any idea what I �m doing wrong or do you know of any other programs that resize the pictures? Thanks a lot in advance :)

I think PGN type of pics don �t have the black background....
