What advice can you offer on TOEFL PREP classes?

What advice can you offer on TOEFL PREP classes?

I have 2 questions for my learned friends here at ESLPRINTABLES.COM

1)  What is this Academic Vocabulary List that is suggested a student learns for the TOEFL exam?  I heard about it today for the first time and I have been teaching my first TOEFL prep class for the past 2 months - with little support from my school.

2)  What would you advise I focus the lessons on?

3)  Where can I find TEACHER RESOURCES (good ones) for teaching TOEFL PREP -  is there a course or seminar that I can attend?  Online preferred.

Hope someone can help - and thanks in advance (and for the past) advice.

I m not teaching TOEFL but I took it 1 year ago. I was trying to find something to study for it.. there are guides, like cambridge for fce for example that contain a lot of exercises and explain the type of tasks in the TOEFL, there is also something online, visit the toefl page. For me what was a little bit difficult was the speaking part as there was not time to prepare what to say, well, 30 seconds. You can practice with this in the class. Help them to gain speed . I did not know that there was a lisy of academic vocabulary, for me the exam was not difficult, and my level was not really high... so teach them what you know related to University, staff, teachers, classes... cause in american English can be a bit different.
You can use listenings related to university lessons, situations that can happen in the office of a director or in the library.... Almost everything in the TOEFL has to do with universty life!
