Hi everyone! I have a problem and I hope you will help me solve it with your great ideas. I have lessons with two sisters, 6 and 7 years old. But they are bored with worksheets and I am lacking ideas for activities. They like moving very much. Can you tip me what I can do with them? Thanks in advance and have a great week. |

download "miniflashcards" from englishtips.org.
get them to colour in the pix then play the games.

Sing songs or play games with them. Make up actions to go with the songs. You can download flashcard sets and make a page of 9-12 smaller flashcards and have them cut them into �playing cards �. You can play MANY kinds of games that way. Go fish, Snatch, etc. My students LOVE snatch. Where I say the target language about one of the cards and they race to �snatch � the right card the quickest, earning points for each card.

You could play hide and seek with flashcards, that way you can cover PREPOSITIONS (where was the flashcard?), FURNITURE (under the desk, behind the chair...), and any vocabulary you put on the flashcards you use for that activity. |

Hi Magda,
Try these games/activities:
musical chairs
blackboard race
fishing flashcards - you need flashcards, two fishing ropes (pencils, a piece of string and magnets)
questions and answers combined with throwing a ball
basketball - students can throw the ball only if they can answer a question
acting out stories/dialogues
watching DVDs and answering questions
watching DVDs without sound and pretending characters
flyswatting flashcards
throwing paper balls at flashcards
pairworks, e.g. picture dictation, various information gap activities
playing with toys and talking/describing/acting
boardgames - you can even prepare the boards with your girls
songs, chants, nursury rhymes, poems
online games
There are also plenty of games to teach specific language items.

My younger ss love to play games like memory, bingo, go fish and any other kind of card or board game. I have bought a lot of games from "Orchard Toys" for my ss and they love them!! Have a look here:

I have these games in my classroom: Shopping List, Greedy Gorilla, Two by Two, Insey Winsey Spider, What�s the time, Mr Wolf?, Dotty Dinosaurs, Red Dog, Blue Dog, Bus Stop, Pass the Word, Crazy Chefs, Tell the Time, Pop to the Shops and Tummy Ache.
These games have made my life sooo much easier!! I know they �re not cheap, BUT my ss cannot get enough of them and that �s what counts for me.  |

My students love MEMORY GAMES and HANGMAN. Thanks of these games they learn a lot of new words and they always ask me : "when will we play - at the beginning or at the end of the lesson.? I always start at the beginnig (just only 1 game) with the words we learnt before (for example a week ago) and always finish my lesson the game, too but this time I choose a game with new words we learnt on the lesson. Thanks of this they repeat the new words. Of course I play with my students and it �s a great fun. They return home very happy and not tired or bored. Of course they tell their parents who won and they are happier especially if they win
