A Workshop about Portfolios ( Need Help)!!!
|
Hello dear teachers,
I m in big need of information about portfolios, their types, and uses in the classroom for different levels.
I do need sites, samples, maybe ideas on how to launch a workshop about portfolios.
Any kind of help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance !
Nebal
P.S. Id I didn t answer or comment on-the-spot, please, do forgive me.
I will pm later.

I ve pmed you some links. As for portfolio workshop, not sure what you mean, but I can try to give you some ideas:
1. students portfolios - you can have sts make a list of what a st s portfolio should consist of in their opinion and then have them prepare templates for this and each work on their own personal portfolio (their achievement through the years) - this could be manageable with all age groups and levels, only the elementaries will ask for basic info, whereas the advanced will make more complicated questions
2. teachers portfolios - you can have sts make a list of what they think a teacher s portfolio should consist and then have them interview some of the teachers in your school (including you) and make their portfolios in templates
3. job portfolios - this I would definitely do with adults or perhaps high school sts(graduates) - what they think a portfolio should consist of for certain jobs, make templates and then each make their own template.
Afterwards you could perhaps have an exhibition with the portfolios... Hope I haven t completely missed the point...

Thanks dear Baiba for your quick help!!! Good sites!
Dear Anita, the workshop is meant to be given for teachers. They have never seen portfolios before, and it will be me who will introduce this kind of authentic assessment .
Got my point? You are helpful in many different ways, dear.;)))
Well, well, well, here showed up, superman. Oh Aftab, thanks a million times for the many sites. I will check.

No problem, Neby dear ...
Although some of my best workshops were done with teachers who were students (pretending to be - I actually did an activity with them the way I d do it with students)... After all, we re all students in one way or another, aren t we? |

Of course, we are still students. No one reaches perfection or satisfaction, my dear. For example, I consider myself the student of many wonderful expert teachers here like you, and many others. Thanks for your non-stop help.
