Word of the Day Winner

Congratulations to Pilarmham, she is the WOD winner.

The WOD and its meaning were jettatura-the power of the evil eye (from Italian).

Pilar s definiton had something to do with a person that s afraid of heights taking an extra fast plane so they could get out of the sky faster.

For people that don t know, the symbol below, which is seen quite often all over Europe, is a ward against the evil eye.

Thanks for playing,
Douglas

Hi dear colleagues,
In some cultures, in my country some people believe that the shape above is good and important. They hang it on doors or other parts of the house "as a spell" agaist envy.
However, I don t believe in such things!

Thanks for sharing!

This is also a symbol against the "evil eye"...
It is called "azabache" as is the black stone it is made of.
