Great! I�ll tell my students, that they don�t need to worry! I don�t know the rules either, but somehow I seem to get it right through gut feeling. They just have to let that develop...
Hopefully that won�t make me unemployed ... LOL

As a native English speaker my humble opinion is this:

This is correct:
I sometimes don�t do my homework.     ( Meaning that you do it most of the time)
 
I don�t sometimes ...  is not correct.
 

Is it:
I don�t generally remember where I put my glasses.  OR
I generally don�t remember where I put my glasses.

I think it�s the second sentence, but why? I�d actually not use generally for that one at all, but in that case the student�s choice of word probably comes from the very similar German word...
 
Both these sentences are grammatically correct, but what is the meaning?
 
It could imply you remembered where you put your glasses on this occasion, (and you usually forget).
 
I usually forget where....      would be more commonly used in spoken English.
