If yes then why we say , " The leg of the table is broken. instead of the table �s leg is broken"

And sometimes we avoid the possive case with inanimate objects by saying:
 
The table (adjective) leg (noun).
 
The table leg is broken.
The cupboard door is locked.

Grammars say that you cannot use the saxon genitive with objects, only with people and animals but one things is what grammars say and onother what people actually say.
