Birthdays

Hi dear colleagues,

I m spending my Saturday night grading tests (how lucky!)
 and I was wondering...

"I m 14 years old.  I turned THEM 3 days ago. "

"I turned THEM"  doesn t sound well, but how can you say it better?

1. I had my birthday
2. I celebrated my birthday
3. I turned my age
or simply "I turned 14" (I wanted to avoid the repetition) ?

Thanks a lot,
Chiara

I d rather say I turned 14 three days ago .

As for the other variants, both I celebrated my 14th birthday and I had my birthday mean that you had a sort of a party to mark the day.
You can also use It was my 14th birthday three days ago.

Option 1 is fine, as is option 2. Option 3  sounds strange. Option 4 is best in my opinion. Another option would be My birthday was 3 days ago. "I turned it" doesnt really work, in my opinion.
