can you help, please?

Dear colleagues,

I m doing a translation of a text from Arabic into English and there is a word in Arabic that I don t know its equivalent in English. I m wondering if you can help me. The word refers to the person who writes on a piece of paper or object so as to bring good luck or cure from an illness.
Thanks beforehand for your consideration.

I don t think there is a direct translation.
Perhaps you can use the Arabic word (Anglisized) in italics and add an explanation.
We have a fortune teller and there are several synonyms, but none which match what you are describing.

Maybe someone else can think of a better word.

Still looking for a word, but this may help in the search:

EDIT: Perhaps you could use "runemaker"

I m grateful beyond words for your help, dear colleagues. "talisman writer" almost fits the Arabic equivalent.
