Hi dear colleagues! Would you mind correcting the passive form of this sentence, please? "Industrial revolution helped to develop new technologies" ->New technologies were helped to be developed by industrial revolution. If it is wrong could you suggest me an answer, please? Thank you very much in advance. |

This sounds more natural to me, and not so cumbersome. The development of new technologies was helped by the industrial revolution. |

I agree with Apodo, but another answer (more natural than yours) could also be: The Industrial Revolution helped new technologies to be developed. |

@hilary suzy - A native speaker would not write or say the sentence that way, �were helped to be developed � sounds awkward. �were helped in their development � would be a possible way of saying it. @Shalottslady - Your suggestion doesn �t change the sentence to the passive form. |
