Is it correct?
Hi, I am preparing an activity about family and places in the house and I am confused. I ´d really appreciate if you could help me.
Is it correct to say ´WHERE IS THE MOM?" Do you know if the use of the article is appropriate?
Thanks in advance!!

If it is in a dialogue with a child asking, use "Where ´s Mom?" If you have a picture with different family members and you want the students to pick out the correct person, ask "Where is the mother?" We use mom as a nickname for mother, so we treat it like a name, not as a common noun. You might be able to get away with "Where ´s the mom?" if the students are preschoolers, though.
