Holocaust Day

Holocaust Remembrance Day, (in Israel)  in memory of the six million Jews who perished during the Nazi regime from 1933 -1945.

It is always a solemn occasion.

Do you do anything in your school to teach children about the tragedy of the Holocaust?

In my opinion it s the worst, saddest and dirtiest part of world History.
Our children study this when the topic is the II World War.
I wonder when man will learn that war doesn t bring anything but misery, sadness, poverty, ignorance, damages...

Hi Eng789,
When I taught in the UK it was part of the WWII unit... of course it depended on the year/age of the pupils but the older pupils cover this in more depth.
Although I did read something not too long ago that topics like these are being slowly taken out of the curriculum.. I wish I could remember when and where I read that... as I no longer teach in the UK I can t be 100% sure of the exact details....
