Well, I �m very happy to see that this question brought about a nice discussion....but my original question was not as regards the meaning of "have got= possess" but how to use "get" in the present perfect. For instance:
 
"I got a job in the new company" (normal past simple tense)..........................but what happens when it �s following this structure:
 
"I �m really excited to have got/gotten (?) the job"........like you would also say: "I �m really happy to have discovered this new place!"  (RIGHT?)
 
Do you see my point here?
