Runners and writers
runners and writers Game: New Vocabulary ( a different way to learn vocabulary)
• FIRST: Divide the group in teams of 2 students. One student is the runner and the other is the writer.
• assigning the writers a worksheet with pictures related to the vocabulary words they will learn
•the runner goes to the other side of the room where there is a table or desk with the pictures and their name in English.
The first team that finish wins a point, one rule is that they can’t yell the word from the other side, they have to run back to their partners to tell them the word.
Then runners and writers change places.
Second part of this game is: collecting all the worksheets from all the groups
showing the Pictures to the students and asking them what is this? The name of the word from here you have two options:
Letting them running to the board to write the word (correcting spelling and pronunciation)
Letting them to raise their hands or run to a buzzer (draw on the board and touching it) and letting them to name the picture orally and correcting pronunciation.
