In Turkey, it is on 24 th of Nov.We celebrate the teacher īs day on this date because we have begun Latin Alphabet since 24th of Nov,1936 .Our leader,Atatürk ,made great reforms in the field of education.This one was the first.Then he was given the title of head master.He had been a president until his death, but what he wanted was ,indeed, to be a teacher.Unfortunately he left us early ,he died in 1938.In my opinion, that made him unforgettable. |

The first thing I noticed was the date - September, 11th. I feel so ... don īt know how to explain, but that day, for me, here in Portugal, was also so, but so difficult, I can īt forget what happened.

Happy teacher īs day, coleagues!!!
Olindalima, I know that for many September 11th is a very sad day but we celebrate teacher īs day after the death of Faustino Sarmiento, a man who was deeply concerned with educational issues. He is also considered "the teacher" in Latin America by many people.
