							| Materials on American Culture
 |
							| Hello! I am going to give a class on American culture and I want to ask your help. I would be very grateful if you kindly advise me some video or listening materials on the topic. My students are intermediate. Thanks in advance!

							| Culture is a very broad topic.  Can you tell us what aspects of culture you are looking to highlight?  And what age are the learners? | 17 Sep 2009

							| I think the most effective culture-based lessons come from doing a sort of "Culture Comparison."  In your instance, that would be Ukrainian culture vs. American culture.  A valuable activity would be to have students draw up a list of commonalities and differences about the subject matter.   I did this once by showing a short clip of an American wedding ceremony.  The students worked together to compile their observations about the clip and contrast these observations with how weddings are conducted in their country.   Sorry I don t have specifics for your particular situation.  I teach a different age group and have never created a lesson in the topics you mentioned.  Good luck.  ---Brooke     | 17 Sep 2009
