Hey,
I �ve got a problem. I �m going to revise the present perfect with a number of advanced students on Tuesday (it �s my second teaching lesson - I �m still on a teacher training course and have never taught before).
As a beginning, I thought I �d present a text and let them answer questions to it (e.g. an e-mail by a friend telling news and asking things like "Have you ever ...?"). But I cannot find anything (the topic of the lesson has to be "friends"). Has anyone any tips regarding a text or an introduction?
Next, I thought about giving them a worksheet about "Have you ever ... (been to a fortune teller, ... and things like that) and they can ask their partners these questions so that they can practice speaking and I can see what problems they have.
And finally, I thought about giving them a few exercises with present perfect simple/continous (listening to sounds and imagining what could have happened, correcting mistakes, ...).
What do you think? Any suggestions? What could I use as a finisher? A question?
I would really appreciate any comments or improvements. Thanks a lot for your help.

You don�t specify your pupils age. What is advanced level for you Pet Fce?

Age is between 17 and 25 (foreign university students). It would say between upper intermediate (I �m using an upper intermediate book) and advanced. In general, they are pretty good (they �re at a pretty high level, their English is fluent), but some of them tend to make rather basic mistakes, e.g. I been in Spain instead of I �ve been to Spain, ...

Despite being at an upper intermediate level your pupils are making a seriou mistake so, make them practise the structure again, in many ways as possible to let them internalize it.
