Hi everyone,
Some days ago I saw in an article the comparative "cleverer" and I was wondering why it is done in this way, because what I have always been taught is that when an adjective has two or more syllables you have to add "more" before the adjective ("more clever"). I have also seen that this happens to "simple".
Why does this happen? Could you explain it to me?

THE ADJECTIVE "CLEVER" IS ONE OF THE EXCEPTIONS. THE COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE CAN BE CREATED IN BOTH WAYS. OTHER EXAMPELS ARE: NARROW, QUIET, SHALLOW, SIMPLE. HAVE A NICE DAY. |
