							| You would normally ask someone "how s your health?" when you know that they have been ill recently. | 3 Dec 2009

							| "how is your health?" is pefectly acceptable if, like ash2 said, someone has been ill recently or has ongoing serious ailments/conditions such as  MS (Multiple Sclerosis). In general everyday conversation we say what Mr Ping says; "how are you "   Cheers - Jayho  | 4 Dec 2009

							| Just for interest ... I say "How is your health?" more often than "How are you?".   In fact, in my circle we rarely say "How are you?". It s usually "How s it going?" or "How s things?", "How are you doing?". Even to the boss!   For that matter we rarely say "Yes" more than not its "Yup" or "Yeah".   And who says "I m fine thank you."?   So I find it amusing when many local teachers drill the kids robotically:   How are you? I m fine thank you. | 4 Dec 2009

							| Abdu, "How is your health?" is correct but very formal and perhaps a bit old fashioned. My husband, a doctor, would ask the question just as you stated to his patients.   In answer to darryl, I always say, "I m fine thank you," in response. Perhaps it is an age thing. :)    I find it more amusing when the answer to the question "How are you?" is "Good." Lots of native speakers answer that way even though it is incorrect.   | 4 Dec 2009
