If you �re talking about the conditional, e. g. If you were an astronaut, then I get what you mean... (Beyonce �s If I were a boy- great for teaching kids this, plus it �s the right Valentine topic soon).
If you were a millionaire...
If you were Bill Gates....
If you were a dinosaur...
If you were an avatar...
If you were in space...
If you were a time-traveller...
If you were a teacher...

but I guess , you were can be used in similar dialougues ,too:
A: I was never lazy when I was young.
B:Come on, you were.
A: I was really hardworking in the past.
B: Yes,you were. |

I agree with miss serenity. You were can be used in dialogues
A: Who was the most hardworking student when we were in school?
B: You were.
A:Who was the naughtiest?
B: You were.
In the link you give, they don �t use just the word were. They talk about the general usage of the word. |
