							| --An average can be given as a percent (i.e 90%)   --or as a grade point average, an average between a series of grades:    A= 1, B=2, C=3, D=4, F=6     the student has 4 As, 2 Bs, and 1D = 4 + 4 +4 = 12   12 divided by 7 = 1.71   the student has a 1.7 grade point average! | 8 Feb 2010
