							| grammatical help
 |
							| Hi everybody! I ve got a problem with this sentence: Let s practice........ is normally followed by shall we? accordint to the grammar books but is it possible to say let s practice, WILL YOU? to invite your students to practice a new grammatical point. Hope the natives will help me solve this problem. Thnaks a lot for replying and for all the great work you do. Marie | 26 Feb 2010

							| I m lazy - I say Let s practice - ok?
When you write Let s practice - it really means let us practice - which is plural -  so you can t answer with will you.

But you can say shall we!

							| I agree with libertybelle, you can say "shall we" as the tag question. | 26 Feb 2010

							| Just like Libertybelle and Zora, I m sure you can t ask , "Let s practice , will you?"  But "shall we" is the way to go. | 27 Feb 2010

							| You can t use will you for the simple reason that "Let s practice..." is a suggestion; thus the meaning is "We should practice ..........( You, too, are going to practice with them). | 28 Feb 2010
