							| aches and pains
 |
							| Hello,
I d like to check an option and see if my reasoning is correct.

In: He says he has got ....  in his stomach (hurt/aches/pains/suffering)
I would say it is pains because of the plural. If ache is a continuous, dull pain, then it would be better in the singular, while you can have pains in your chest or labour pains. Besides, I have only seen "aches" in  the expression aches and pains, but I am not a native speaker. Could anyone tell me if this is correct?

 Thank you.

							| It is pains.
You have a stomachache - or - You have stomach pains. Stomach pains are like you suggested something intermittent and not continual like a stomachache is.

You could also say, "My stomach hurts.", "I am suffering from stomach pains/aches."

							| Thank you very much!
In the sentence that you suggest: "I am suffering from stomach aches" Is the plural possible because of the verb?
