							| please help me with the correct grammar
 |
							| Hi everybody,
 I need your help. I ve been taught that you never say;
 Me and James are going to the beach.
 but
 James and me are going to the beach.
 Can someone explain to me which one is correct and why?  PLEASE!

							| sorry, according to what i was taught - and i rechecked in my grammar book to be sure - you have to say:

 James and I are going to the beach.
 or Do you want to come with James and me to the beach?

 James and I = WE
 James and me = US so it can t be the subject of the verb...

 and I think you don t put ME or I in front of James because it s impolite... in French that s what we say, I never asked a native speaker, but I guess it s the same...

							| "James and I" should be in the subject position. However it s correct to say "me and James" in the object position. (at least that s what I would say - but maybe I m impolite!) ;) | 29 Apr 2010
