							| Could you please help me with the following sentence? It �s a matter of time before something happens It �s a matter of time until something happens Before is ok, but I can �t think of a rule to explain students why until is wrong... 							| There is a difference between until and before, but your sentences don �t give a clear example.   While talking about a very dilapidated building I can say:   It will only be a matter of time before that building falls down.= Time will pass (Event 1) then the building will fall down.(Event 2) (Note future tense) or It �s only a matter of time until that building falls down. = Time is passing continuously up to the time when the building falls down.   I hope this helps.
