							| Hi Libertybelle and everyone   Sadly, many children today donīt have the priviledge of a backyard.  So may families are now living in apartments and other high density accommodation where outdoor areas are limited.  Even more sadder is that many of these parents do take their children to McDonalds for birthday parties and thus feed the obesity problem.  McDonalds has many advantages - itīs cheap, it has attractive packages, it has plenty of space, itīs local, thereīs no time limit, thereīs a playground and all the kids (and many parents) love it.   As a sideline, Iīd like to say that although a function room is a good term imho it is not the most appropriate term given the wide range of venues that specifically cater for childrenīs parties, well at least here downunder.  Even our large shopping centres rent out the larger empty spaces below escalators where the venue provides a lot of fun playground-type stuff for younger children.  These are a favourite for kids parties (and, I must say, a healthier option to McDonalds).   Cheers   Jayho | 5 Jun 2010
