on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.
All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."
All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."

Funny! It reminds me of a class ( 14 -year-old ones ) who tended to think that punctuation was NOT useful at all...I kept struggling when marking their papers!! Sooooo, I gave them an English text - as a comprehension task - , after removing all the punc. marks...
They changed their minds!
