							| When i was at University, a teacher strongly rejected it. But I have seen it in many opportunities but I don t have a strong argument to support it. | 13 Jul 2010

							| it depends: in an essay, i would say no...
 but in a conversation, yes...
i think it really depends on the context, because it seems very informal, so...
in an email, i guess you could write it... but if i was in a job interview i would avoid using it...
 does it help?
 take care,
 Elodie

							| Elodie is right. It s absolutely acceptable whenever you use informal style. Cheers, Sophia | 13 Jul 2010

							| Hi Blunderbuster   You will find it commonly used both formally and informally however many grammarians recommend that it not be used formally and that words such as In addition, Furthermore etc be used instead.   I accept it based on the situation and the level of the student.  For example, I accept it for  a beginner essay writer who will then use it as a stepping stone to the other words.  I dont accept it for a business person with advanced English who needs to master writing formal business proposals.   Cheers   Jayho   | 14 Jul 2010
