							| Hello, I need your help! I have a doubt about the word "VACATION", CAN I USE THIS WORD IN SINGULAR AND IN PLURAL FORM? For example: How was your vacation? or                                               How were your vacations?   - what is correct?   Or: Last month, Jhon was on vacation.  or                           Jhon was on vacation.                                                                     Please give me some ideas, Thanks. | 1 Aug 2010

							| @Silvia - 1 - perhaps you could call that person a "Good Samaritan" (someone who helps out of kindness - not because they must - just because they are good people) If it is something they "must" do, you may call them an "Aide"
 I agree with Frank for 2 and 3.

 @Casmo - "on vacation"
 He was on vacation.   (no problem)
 He was on vacation last month.  (no problem)
 and plural...  He took three vacations last year.
