Dear Teachers,
How would you translate the sentence "Die Tiere haben sehr viel Auslauf."? Unfortunately, the dictionary is not much help.

Dear Amandina,
How about this sentence:
The animals have access to a free-range area (where they can move around as much as they want/like).
I �m afraid there �s no direct English translation for "Auslauf haben".

I would suggest: Animals have a lot of space to move around. To my knowledge there is no direct translation, but you can paraphrase.

Katie (my dog) has free run of my house.
It seems that your example is about chickens or the like? You could say they have constant access to a chicken run etc.....

Hi Amandina,
I hope this site will help you: http://www.dict.cc/ It �s an on-line dictionary. According to it, "Auslauf haben" means "run for animals". But I would translante it:"Animals have lots of space to move around".
