It could be different in other countries - I �m not sure what they use in UK, US or Canada.  That �s just what is used in Oz (and hey, we �re down here at the bottom of the world so who says what we do is correct???).  Deaf and dumb might be the terminology still used in these countries.  I think that �s why it �s important to see what is used in your own country and the English speaking country that your schools follow (e.g.  SAE, SBE). 

 

We often have conversations here where some people say yay and others say nay but at the end of the day it often depends on what is used in your own country and the English speaking country that your schools follow.  English might be a global langauge but there are so many variations.
