							| Hi everyone,   What s the correct answer to this question?:   What s your favourite pet?   1. Dogs are my favourite pet/s. 2. The dog is my favourite pet.   Thanks in advance.   Big hugs, Choli | 24 Aug 2010

							| I d say, - grammaticaly, it s the 2nd one, because, it takes up the grammatical subject of the question
 - but semanticaly, both are correct.

 Hope I helped. :-)

							| (1) Dogs are my favourite pets becuase I don t like cats.(2) out of all the pets we have/I have in the house, the dog is my favourite pet. so both of these are ok but depending on the sentence or question. Redbull gives you wings you know . | 24 Aug 2010

							| If you re speaking in general of all dogs, use the plural.  Using the singular is effective communication, but sounds non native (not that there s anything wrong with that). | 24 Aug 2010
