							| The first ones we always called string beans in my family (American English). The second ones I would call beans, canned beans, baked beans or maybe even kidney beans - although kidney beans are usually reddish in color. |  25 Aug 2010

							| Ah-ha! The yummy "haricots verts" ... or green string beans... In Canada, our cans are labelled in French as well as English and I often think of them as haricots verts because of this. lol 
 But yes, they are green beans, string beans, green string beans, or French beans...

							| The long green ones we call string beans. The orange ones are often called baked beans. (Americans often buy these in cans. They are packed in tomato)
 
 Did you know there is a Boston bean too?
 But all in all - they are all beans - with different names.
 
 Baked beans, garbanzo beans, string beans, kidney beans, chili beans, broad beans,  green beans!
 
 (I always called Haricots verts for Hairy �s caught verts!!
