							| London trip!
 |
							| Hello!! This is the first year I m going to organise a London trip for me and my students!! I m really happy because I see them very motivated.
I ve thought about the idea of telling them missions to do previous to the trip. For example, I ve told them to prepare the route from Gatwick airport to the hotel we are going to stay in.
Can you tell me more "missions" I can tell them to do??
 Thank you!

							| Walking tour (broken into section or parts of the city) Working out the best way to get around on foot to see the main attractions!

Get them to write emails to tourist attractions in London asking questions or even inquiring about booking tickets.

							| Cheezels ideas are great! Here are a few more:
 - Create a sample budget and let them research possible itinerary and lodging - involves reading, writing, and math
 - Practice asking directions with classmates, using actual map of London
 - Research popular foods eaten in London, to familiarize the students with London s typical menu items - especially useful if any students have allergies or special dietary restrictions

							| Armchair travelling is great! My kids all got an historical place to
research and wrote on small cards.
When we got to London - they all read their
 cards for each other.
 They wrote about:
 Buckingham Palace
 The London Eye
 Greenwich observatory
 The London Underground
 Piccadilly Circus
 covent Garden
 The Monument
 Cleopatra s Needle
 and more..........

							| Another useful idea might be to get the telephone number and street address of the Spanish embassy in London. Some student might lose a passport. If your students are advanced enough, you might even require them to Google these sites in English and only English-language websites. | 15 Oct 2010
