Hello dear teachers,
Could you please help to clarify this? I know that people usually say
´I have breakfast/lunch, etc. ´
But in one of the eslprintable ws (not editable) it says
´I eat breakfast. ´
Does it sound correct? I think I ´ve seen this before in some textbooks but I ´ve never heard native speakers (my colleagues are mostly from Britain) saying it.
So do people really say ´I eat breakfast/lunch/dinner ´ in your countries?

Americans usually eat breakfast. Brits (and other assorted nationalities like Ozzies)usually have breakfast.
Both are obviously correct. |

As an American, I can tell you that both "eat" and "have" are used interchangeably. It really doesn ´t matter, unless your breakfast is just a cup of coffee. Obviously in that case, use "have." I don ´t know many people who eat coffee! |

I may say, "I eat breakfast, lunch or dinner" in response to a question by someone that is asking if I eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. I may say that I usually have breakfast in the morning if asked by someone but I can ´t find anyone here that speaks English that well to ask me questions like that. I sometimes say, "I am having lunch with someone," or "I usually have sausage with my breakfast" but I rarely say, "I have lunch" by itself. Being in Thailand for the last year, I have not said that I have sausage with my breakfast because I can ´t find any. My god! The things we grave for!

Thank you for your replies! Sorry the sentence was used in the context of time
e.g. I have/eat breakfast at 8 o ´clock in the morning.
