							| Thanks  a lot.You re right. A week as a break seems too long to be so. But let s wait for others especialy natives. | 26 Oct 2010

							| @sun_rise9981   Why do you laugh at Mabdel? This forum is for asking questions, isnt it?? Theres no need to take the mickey out of someone who is seeking for help! You re not very polite, I must say...     Dear Mabdel, I admire you for being such a calm and patient person!!    In German, we can say that we take a break for a week! However, I must admit that I m not 100% sure whether we can say the same in English.   Sorry for not having been able to help you this time...   Hugs - Silke   | 26 Oct 2010

							| Dear Mabdel,   We can say" a week vacation/holiday" but Is it correct to say " a week break"   In the UK, it is not usual to use the word vacation, (in my opinion).  We usually say:   "I am taking a day s holiday!"  "I am taking a week s holiday!"  "I am taking a month s holiday!"   This means: "A holiday OF A DAY!"; "A holiday OF A WEEK!"; "A holiday OF A MONTH".   Yes!  We can also say:  "I am taking a week s break!"  ("I am having a break from my work!")   I hope that this helps.   Les  | 26 Oct 2010

							| Idthemagicman : Yes!  We can also say:  "I am taking a week s break!"  ("I am having a break from my work!")   What about "a week off" then if you mean out of work? | 26 Oct 2010
