							| Hi, I �m doing a ws about the day of the dead and I there is this: "papel picado" and I �m not sure about the translation, could it be "cutting paper"?

 As you can see, it is a piece of paper cut to give an image.

							| I know in Mexico it �s called Papel de China...I believe in English it is TISSUE paper...and I �ve even heard someone call it RICE paper...But a name for this paper with figures cut to it I �m not so sure...Engraved tissue paper, perhaps?  I don �t know, and I don �t think carved would apply in this case...but maybe a native speaker could help us with this?   Happy half Week!!!   Elida |  27 Oct 2010

							| I have never seen these - they are amazing!  What do you do with them? Frame them and hang them on the wall? 
 The round ones we use to put cakes on are called doily / doilies.
