							| i first write some phrasal verbs on the board and ask the students to try to guess them. i am sure that they will make guesses just upon the verb and try to figure them out matching with the prepositions. so their guesses will be wrong. this will make them see the difference of the phrasal verbs. we can t seperate the verb and the preposition, when they come together, they get a new meaning. after this aggreement, i present the vocabulary. a powerpoint slide show is the best way to give them. you can use pictures to help your students learning. after this presentation, i will give them a reading text written with our ordinary verbs and ask my students to replace them with the phrasal verbs. i am sure they will definitely learn. but i am also sure that they will easily forget them, because you know even we may sometimes forget their meanings. so, from time to time, you can make your students play vocabulary games with phrasals. | 12 Nov 2010

							| I introduce phrasal verbs in what I call "seargent major" mode. I give each student a specific instruction such put up your hand, pick up your pen, put it down again, Turn up the radio etc, then we ahve a group dicussion about the differences between the verbs they have just heard and the regular forms, then a text which is peppered with phrasal verbs which they have to read and find, we ened the lesson by repeating the first exercise but this time the students give each other the instructions.   invariably some of it sticks... | 13 Nov 2010
