							| the comma is used to separate the thousands, millions, etc.:   1,000 1,000,000 1,000,000,000   Commas are NOT used for telphone numbers, in the USA a - is common for telephone numbers:   (123)456-7890     (Parenthesis set off the area code, which is not usually dialed when both callers are within the same area).     Douglas |  29 Nov 2010
