							| Both "and" and "or" are correct. It depends on what you are asking.   Have you been playing football and basketball? - This asks if the person has been playing both sports.   Have you been playing football or basketball? - This depends on where the emphasis is. If it is asked in an even tone, it is asking if the person has been playing either sport (or it could be both). If there is emphasis on both of the words "football" and "basketball", then it is asking which one of the sports the person has been playing.   I hope this helps you, Bruce |  27 Dec 2010
