							| English or Scotish/Welsh Gaelic?
 |
							| Hi everybody! Does anybody know what language(s) school children are taught at Scottish/Welsh schools? Is it English or Scottish/Welsh Gaelic? Or both? And in Northern Ireland? | 2 Jan 2011

							| In Scotland it depends.  Most main stream schools teach in English although Gaelic is sometimes taught as a second language , but there are a few Gaelic medium schools - mostly but not exclusively in the highlands of Scotland. | 2 Jan 2011

							| Most Welsh schools teach mainly in English, but children have obligatory Welsh lessons from the day they start school.  I think that there must be schools which use Welsh as the first language - I guess it depends on where you live in Wales. | 2 Jan 2011
