hi I just wanted to say thanks a lot for your nice comments and I won �t be able to upload and download ws since my computer has crashed down and everything was lost even word 2007 so I haven �t got a word processor to use for the moment.I had to restore windows and I �ve lost files.music,photos,fonts,images everything.My computer has only got an internet connection, and paint.Well little by little I will try to install what I used to have on it.Just a piece of advice "make sure of having a copy of your files" alwayssss .I am really sad because my computer was an important part of my life.Hope to see you soon.Bye. |

What a terrible way to start a new year! I �m very sorry and I hope there �s any possibility to recover as many files as possible.
With regard to your piece of advice, follow it everyone! I �ve had problems several times with my computer -mostly with the operating system- but I �ve been able to recover most of the files thanks to the backups. |

I know how you feel, I �ve experienced it myself.
The first shock is terrible because it seems that half of your life goes down with the computer.
I lost very very important pictures for ever, I lost my teaching materials I had made working hard. I lost hundreds of bookmarked links.
Now I use external HDD and from time to time I export my bookmarks and everything I value to the "storehouses" on the internet.
Everything will be fine Angela! ......with time  ......

Oh, dear! I �m sorry for your problems. The first time this happened to me I lost my thesis, and let me tell you, that was NOT funny!!! It was just two weeks before the due day and i spent one of the remaining two weeks crying. I have multiple external hard disks now and printed coppies of all my work and downloaded worksheets. At least this way you can photocopy them if you lose your files... |

My computer crashed too some months ago but a computer expert - my friend managed to restore most of the data...
Did you contact any specialists?
If the "paint" program survived, there might be something left...
Maybe some files have survived...
One importand thing is: divide the new harddisk into two sections/partitions and "put" windows in an extra part.
Second - buy an external disc with automatic saving system and store the most important data on dvds as well.
I feel so sorry for you!!!

What bad news!  Some years ago the same thing happened to me. Since then I have made copies of my work and photos...
I hope everything will be OK soon and you files will be set back.
