"Children" is more formal. "Kids" is less formal. That �s all there is to it.

Thank you very much for your prompt answer, Bruce. I am asking because my daughter �s teacher said them children means in family and kids is general meaning. When my daughter wrote "kids", the teacher said it �s a mistake:o(

I thought Kids was American-English, & children British-English... I wasn �t really sure about it, though ;o) In my classes, I always use children...

Hi dear Friends!
I just pmed Dorothea ( Elderberrywine ) & sent her hugs to ...Hmmm .. Turkmenistan. Then, I realised I needed a change.
Err ... I must say Life is just ... wonderful in - what �s it called again ? - ...& the Grenadines.  I thought Grenadine was just for me : A nice drink - strawberry-like taste ( I suspect it �s chemical!!) ;o)
Sooo, here I am, now, ...in pinkish sugary waters.
I �ll stay there for a while.
