Is it possible to paraphrase the sentence Their living as a wife and a husband wasn �t happy. with : Their relationship wasn �t happy. I somehow expect the answer: Their marriage wasn �t happy.

Hello. The underlined phrase while not incorrect sounds better as husband and wife, just as bread and butter sounds better than butter and bread. Depending on what is meant by living as husband and wife it could be either "relationship" (unmarried couple living as husband and wife) or marriage if they are legal. |
