							| True False Not Given questions
 |
							| What is theory behind writing T/F/NG questions in official tests eg TOEFL, TOEIC, CFE, IELTS etc?   Is it:   T = exact answer in text F = exact opposite to what is in text NG = answer not in text   What if part of Q is in text but part is not, is it T/F or a NG?   Are there any websites explaining this?       | 12 Apr 2011

							| I think you just need to do lots of readings in that style with your students.   NG = With a True and False answer, you can back up why you chose that answer. With NG, you can t because the information is not in the text.   E.g. "Every day Tom leaves home at 8.30am and arrives at school at 9.00am. At 1pm he eats his lunch with his friends Sam and Charlie. He always eats a sandwich."   Question: Tom leaves home at 8.30am = True Tom eats lunch at 11.00am = False. He eats his lunch at 1pm. Tom s best friend is called Charlie = NG (Charlie was mentioned but best friend wasn t. We can t tell if Charlie is Tom s best friend from the text). | 12 Apr 2011
